HypnoPositiveFAQsCan anyone be hypnotised? Yes but only if you want to be. All hypnosis is basically self hypnosis. You remain in control throughout. Your desire to make the improvements is essential but after that, the effort is mine and you do not need to try to become hypnotised. You just make yourself comfortable, listen to me and let me help you relax. Is there really no effort needed on my part? You need only the desire for change. The only effort would be making time to listen to any recording I give you to use at home, to reinforce our session. What does hypnosis feel like? It is a very enjoyable state of deep relaxation If you have ever learned meditation or Yoga relaxation, you already have an idea of what it is like. Are you sometimes so absorbed by something, a book or a task, that you virtually blank out the world around you? That's a kind of hypnotic state too. Will I wake up? Yes, certainly. The sessions end with a section which makes sure you come back to full conscious awareness. In sleep therapy, you will be awakened at the end of the session. This last part is deliberately omitted from the CD recording you take home with you, so that you awake naturally at the proper time. Can I be made to do anything against my will? No. People are naturally worried if they have seen stage hypnosis, which is different in several ways. As a therapist, I work only for your good but anyway, you will remain aware and in control. How many sessions will I need? I will tell you this at the end of the free initial consultation. Some issues can de dealt with in one session, many in two but I will explain what I think is needed and why. Are there any safeguards? I work to the ethical standards of The Hypnotherapy Association and am fully insured. I hold a Diploma in Advanced Holistic Hypnotherapy and continue to take courses of professional development. What if my problem is very private or even embarrassing? You will find that I have met with many kinds of distressing problems and will be sympathetic and supportive. Everything you tell me is absolutely confidential between us. The only exception is with children, when their parent will need to give consent and usually be present throughout the sessions. My problem is medical. Will my doctor approve? I will ask about your medical situation at the initial consultation. Hypnosis is natural and not harmful and does not interfere with conventional medication. Of course this is something you can discuss with your doctor and are likely to find that he or she is very positive about it. Where do the sessions take place? In Prestbury, Cheshire, close to Wilmslow and Macclesfield. I will give you full directions before your first visit. This site constructed & maintained by Edge Effect |
